The Prayer Chain Ministry at Grace Lutheran performs a very essential function. Prayer Chain volunteers individually offer up daily prayers for a list of people who are going through health or personal struggles. Friends and/or relatives either call or email the church office or a Prayer Chain member asking for prayers which are forwarded to each member. Confidentiality is a must when requested. The Prayer Chain meets quarterly to touch base and update information. New volunteer members are always welcome. To volunteer please email the Prayer Chain Chairperson, Lois Gordie. A Senior Member/Home-bound Member Dinner is organized by Church Council Members annually during the summer months. This is for anyone 75 years young or more, and for our friends that are shut-in, home-bound, or at a nursing home. A meal is served around noon, followed by a sing along and a brief communion service. Invitations are sent out the prior to the event. RSVPs are asked for and rides provided upon request. Also, if an invitation is not received but you are home-bound and/or 75 years young and would like to attend, a call to the office is all that is needed to attend! Food donations, along with volunteers in food preparation, serving, clean up, or providing rides are always welcome and needed. Thanksgiving Boxes The Women of Grace put together and distribute Thanksgiving Boxes to shut-in members of Grace. They are packed with some homemade goodies along with devotionals and snacks to let them know they are being thought of. Be a Liturgist, Greeter, Usher or Snack Provider If you are interested in serving as an Usher or Lay Liturgist on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, a greeter on Sunday mornings, or a snack provider for fellowship following worship Sunday, please contact the church office at 325-9172.
